“My version of Harley Quinn is mine and it is very authentic for this film”

Lady Gaga hints at her role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming film Joker: Foil for Two.

In a new interview on promoting Gaga Chomatica Ball In the film, the star hinted at how different her version of the comic book character is.

“You know, my version of Harley is mine, and it is very authentic to this film and these characters,” she said Access to Hollywood“I've never done anything like this film before, so it's going to be completely new and really fun.”

Gaga stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in joker Sequel directed by Todd Phillips. The DC Studios musical hits theaters on October 4th.

Joker: Foil for Two the cast also includes Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson and Zazie Beetz. The film is part of DC Elseworlds and not part of the universe that Peter Safran and James Gunn have built since taking over as DC Studios directors.

Gaga takes on the role of Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie in films such as Suicide Squad (2016), birds of prey (2020) and The suicide squad (2021). Robbie expressed her excitement about reinterpreting the character after learning that Gaga had been cast in the role.

“It makes me so happy because I said from the beginning that I just wanted Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, like Macbeth or Batman are always passed from one great actor to the next,” Robbie told MTV News in 2022.

She continued, “It's a great honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors can play. I think she's going to do something incredible with it.”
