BBC to air SECOND Gavin & Stacey special this Christmas

Get ready for a festive treat, Gavin and Stacey fans.

Not only do we get to see the highly anticipated grand finale, the BBC is also presenting a special documentary with behind-the-scenes insights into the sitcom's 17-year history.

The cameras were granted exclusive access during the filming of the farewell episode, starring Mathew Horne and Joanna Page in the popular title characters.

This behind-the-scenes documentary will air around the same time during the Christmas season, with the final episode scheduled for Christmas Day.

A TV industry insider told The Sun: “The BBC sees this as a momentous occasion and wanted to give Gavin and Stacey a fitting send-off.

“Because Fulwell 73, which is owned by James Corden and co-produces the sitcom, is filming the documentary, they have full access to the set and all important conversations.”

It appears that the documentary will capture the creative process from start to finish, offering fans unique insights into the making of the finale.

Earlier this year it was announced that Gavin & Stacey would return; James Corden and Ruth Jones were already working on the script.

Gavin & Stacey's final Christmas special in 2019 was a record-breaker, attracting 18 million viewers.

This special ended on a cliffhanger when Ruth Jones' character Nessa proposed to James Corden's Smithy.

Now we will finally find out in the grand finale whether Smithy said yes.

And as a bonus, there is a documentary that gives us a look at all the behind-the-scenes magic that happened during the production of this cult episode.

Don't miss out on a double helping of deliciousness from Gavin & Stacey this Christmas.
