Former Pee-Wee hockey player Travis Kelce watches the Stars beat the Oilers 3-1 to even the NHL playoff series, while the Chiefs star enjoys the offseason between Taylor Swift's tour dates and training in Kansas City

Travis Kelce's turbulent offseason continued Saturday in Dallas, where the Kansas City Chiefs tight end watched the hometown stars beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 to even their Western Conference Finals series at 1-1.

Mason Marchment scored the opening goal for Dallas early in the third period and Esa Lindell sealed the victory with a goal into an empty net two minutes before the end.

Hockey is not completely unknown to Kelce.

Both he and his brother Jason are known for attending NBA games in their hometown of Cleveland, and the younger Kelce claims he turned down a scholarship after high school to play basketball in West Virginia for coach Bob Huggins. But before Kelce became a high school football, basketball and baseball star, Taylor Swift's boyfriend was actually a pee-wee hockey player in Cleveland Heights.

“I really love hockey,” read one old tweet that resurfaced after Kelce's appearance at the Stars' game against the Oilers. “I haven't stepped on the rink since I retired after 8 years… But that has to change! I miss it too much.”

Kelce was not the only famous athlete in the crowd in Dallas on Saturday. Former Mavericks star and NBA champion Dirk Nowitzki was also seen at the American Airlines Arena, where a statue of the German basketball legend now stands.

After losing Game 1 in the second overtime and trailing 1-0 in the series, the Stars took the lead 3:39 into the first period when Jamie Benn scored on assists from Wyatt Johnston and Miro Heiskanen.

Edmonton's Connor Brown equalized a minute later after assists from Cody Ceci and Warren Foegele.

But the tie was finally broken 3:41 into the third period when Mason Marchment beat Edmonton keeper Stuart Skinner after Dallas had missed a series of chances.

Edmonton's comeback attempt failed and after Skinner was taken off the field with just over two minutes left, Dallas' Esa Lindell put the game out of reach with a goal into an empty net.

Dallas front-line center Roope Hintz and Oilers forward Adam Henrique have both missed another game of these NHL playoffs after being left off the roster in Game 2.

In the case of both players, the coaches had assumed that they would only make a decision shortly before the start of the game.

Henrique missed his seventh consecutive game and eighth of nine since suffering an ankle injury in the first-round final against Los Angeles on May 1.

Hintz missed his fourth straight game with an upper-body injury. He hasn't played since leaving the Stars in the first period of Game 4 of their second-round series against Colorado on May 13.

Kelce will be racking up plenty of air miles this summer as he flies back and forth across the Atlantic in support of Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs star has played the role of caring boyfriend since the two began a romance nearly a year ago, supporting the pop superstar on her Eras tour.

Most recently, the 34-year-old watched the 14-time Grammy winner bring her sold-out show to Europe.

But just before the start of the NFL season, the three-time Super Bowl winner is faced with the task of managing a balancing act.

The tight end will reportedly shuttle between Europe and the U.S. as Swift continues her tour, which resumes in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday.
