Forget Fallout, Fortnite's coolest new gaming crossover is with Lethal Company – Destructoid

Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fourteen days will begin later today, and Epic Games has already confirmed new crossovers with Bethesda's Stand out series and Marvel's X-Men. However, ahead of an official announcement, another crossover skin has leaked, and it's honestly the most exciting: Deadly Company.

Although not officially confirmed, common and reliable Fourteen days Leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR have posted on Twitter a rendering of a skin based on the playable staff characters of Deadly Company this morning. They also have a short in-game clip of the skin in the Fourteen days Loose, which shows that there is a Deadly Company inspired emote; one based on the little dance you use to communicate with other players. It's not yet clear if these cosmetics will be available at the start of the new season or if they'll be added a little later. They're definitely not part of the season's Battle Pass.

Deadly Company was undoubtedly one of the biggest surprises of 2023. This indie co-op survival horror game came almost out of nowhere in October but managed to dominate Steam, becoming the best-selling game on the platform the following month and eventually reaching over 100,000 concurrent players. We even named it the best indie game of 2023, beating out games like El Paso, elsewhere And World of Horrorand it's not even a full game yet; it's still in Early Access.

So it is not that it needs validation; its success speaks for itself. But given Fourteen days has mainly stuck to big IPs and famous personalities in its crossovers, Deadly Company Getting your own cosmetics in Battle Royale feels like a big deal. Apart from Among us (which also exploded and became a viral sensation), I can't think of any other one-off indie games that could be made Fourteen days Appearance. Admittedly, Deadly Company would probably have been overlooked if it hadn’t been very popular from the start, so this should not be taken as a sign that Epic Games is making every indie game in Fourteen days.

However, this is the first time in a long time that one of these crossovers was a real surprise. Fourteen daysThere were so many of them that at this point every other crossover felt predictable. Of course, there would Stand out Skins, especially after the success of the TV show. Of course there would be a Magneto skin in the wake of X-Men '97Season finale. Even the rumor Kingdom Hearts Crossover would not be so surprising. Could any of us have predicted that Deadly Company Skin though? I almost wonder if other groundbreaking indie successes could be considered for Fourteen days Cooperations. Hollow Knight? Hades? Vampire Survivors? Honestly, when it comes to Fourteen daysit feels like nothing is taboo.
