Windows 11 Insider Beta Channel Build 22635.3646 (KB5037858) contains a number of bug fixes

Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 build for members of the Windows Insider program in the Beta Channel. The latest build number is 22635.3646, under KB5037858. This is a fairly small update with some unnamed general improvements and a list of bug fixes.

Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc confirmed on his X account that no builds will be released to Windows Insider program members in the Dev or Canary channels this week.

Update is being rolled out to #WindowsInsiders in the Beta channel with a small set of improvements and bug fixes. Unfortunately there are no Canary or Dev flights this week, but we'll hopefully be back next week with new builds for those channels!

[General]

  • This update includes a number of small general improvements and fixes that improve the overall experience for Insiders running this build on their PCs.

Bug fixes for everyone in the Beta Channel

[Other]

  • New! This update adds PC Manager to devices in China.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects File Explorer. When you pin a folder located on a network share to Quick Access, it takes up to two minutes to launch. This occurs when you upgrade from Windows 11, version 21H2 to Windows 11, version 22H2.
  • This update resolves an issue with TWAIN drivers that may stop responding when you use them in a virtual environment.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects File Explorer. It stops responding when you swipe from an edge of the screen. This issue occurs after you disable edge swiping.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects the display of a smart card icon. It does not appear during logon. This occurs when there are multiple certificates on the smart card.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects a folder context menu. When you select the command to remove items, the command adds items instead. This occurs when a third-party service implements a sync feature.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects a server after you remove it from a domain. The Get-LocalGroupMember cmdlet returns an exception. This occurs when the local groups contain domain members.
  • This update affects the Antimalware Scan Interface (AMSI) AmsiUtil. It helps detect AMSI scan bypass. This update also fixes some long-term issues that expose your device to threats.
  • This update fixes an issue with printers not working as expected when you use AppContainers or when you use them in a restricted environment.
  • This update resolves an issue that affects the out-of-box experience (OOBE). It cannot be completed. This occurs when you enable the “Prevent use of security questions for local accounts” policy.
  • This update resolves an issue affecting the Host Networking Service (HNS). When the service is restarted, load balancer policies are not restored correctly.
  • This update resolves an issue that causes the Enhanced Fast Reconnect feature to fail when you use it with third-party Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) providers.
  • This update resolves an issue affecting Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) audio. The option to connect or disconnect is not displayed.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects an IPP over USB printer. After you delete it, it still appears as unavailable in Control Panel.
  • This update resolves an issue that affects Unified Write Filter (UWF) Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) API calls. Calls to shut down or restart the system throw an access denied exception.
  • This update fixes an issue that causes parts of the screen to become distorted when you use a Chromium-based browser to play a video.
  • This update updates the Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles for certain mobile operators.
  • This update fixes an issue with the Share button on USB controllers. It may not work with Game Bar.
  • This update fixes an issue that causes a hidden window to appear with the title bar having no content and no client area. This occurs when you share your screen with certain apps.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects handwriting pads and touch keyboards. They don't appear when you use a stylus.
  • This update fixes an issue that affects an app that supports encrypted email. The app prompts you to enter your credentials every time you open an encrypted email, even if you have entered your PIN at least once.

known problems

[General]

  • We are investigating an issue where Internet Information Services (IIS) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) may not work after you install this update.
  • [NEW] We are investigating an issue that causes Settings to crash when attempting to view Wi-Fi properties.

[Widgets]

  • Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel who have the new widget entry point location on left-aligned taskbars may see the following known issues:
  • Swiping to access widgets may not work if the taskbar is centered instead of left-aligned.
  • Unpinning widgets from the taskbar may not work if the taskbar is centered instead of left-aligned.
  • The widget panel is incorrectly positioned when Copilot is in side-by-side mode.
  • Turning widgets on/off in the taskbar settings may refresh the taskbar.
