What’s new on Netflix in May? Atlasthe science fiction blockbuster starring Jennifer Lopez, will be released on May 24th on the streamer. Bridgerton released the first four episodes of the third season, which are about the love between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. Other new titles are Jerry Seinfeld's Unfrosted and the much maligned Madame Web.

You know how it goes. When new things come in, old things must go. There are several major films leaving Netflix at the end of the month that you absolutely must watch now. Our picks include the final film in a beloved teen film series, a cult comedy with a golf theme, and a groundbreaking drama set in South Central Los Angeles.

The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 2 (2015)

The entire Hunger Games series is leaving Netflix at the end of the month, and since this is the last chance to watch it on the streamer for the foreseeable future, we're going to put the last of the four films in the spotlight. The hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. At the end of the third film, a brainwashed Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) attacks and nearly kills Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence). When Katniss sees the evil in the Capitol firsthand, she finally agrees to serve as a Mockingjay, the symbol of rebellion.

Now things are getting personal between Katniss and President Snow (Donald Sutherland), the tyrannical leader of Panem. Katniss, Peeta, Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin) and other rebels embark on a mission to the Capitol to free the citizens of Panem once and for all. In the thrilling finale of a popular series, Katniss risks everything to assassinate President Snow. But the “Girl on Fire” slowly learns of an even greater danger that threatens the future of Panem.

Happy Gilmore (1996)

In the 1990s, Adam Sandler dominated the comedy scene with a series of original hits, including 1996’s Happy Gilmore. Happy (Sandler) eats, sleeps and breathes hockey. But Happy lacks the skills on the ice to become a professional. When he learns that his grandmother (Frances Bay) has 90 days to pay off her debt to the IRS, Happy turns to an unusual sport: golf. Happy has the innate ability to hit the ball farther than any golf pro, but his short game and manners still need to be improved.

Enter Chubbs Peterson (the late Carl Weathers), a former professional golfer who had to end his career after losing his hand to an alligator. Under Chubbs' guidance, Happy is successful in golf tournaments and wins money for his grandmother. While Happy becomes a lightning rod in the sport, star golfer Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald) does everything he can to throw the hockey-loving golfer off the tour.

Boys in the Neighborhood (1991)

At 24, John Singleton became the youngest person to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director. Singleton was also the first African-American to receive the same nomination. The film that earned Singleton's historic nomination was Boys from the areathe 1991 coming-of-age story, told from the perspective of young African-Americans in gang-dominated South Central Los Angeles. As a teenager, Tre Styles (Cuba Gooding Jr.) moves in with his strict father Furious (Larry Fishburne) to learn about masculinity and how to stay off the streets.

Tre spends his days with his half-brothers Doughboy (Ice Cube) and Ricky Baker (Morris Chestnut), with the latter getting a chance to play football at USC. Throughout the film, Singleton's script depicts police brutality, race relations, gang violence, and the experience of African Americans in America. Boys from the area is Singleton's masterpiece, a film that is as groundbreaking today as it was in 1991.

Forever My Girl (2012)

If you are looking for an easy-to-watch romantic film with a happy ending, stream Forever my girl. Liam Page is a country music superstar from a small town in Louisiana. But Liam is struggling with the consequences of leaving his bride Josie (Jessica Rothe) at the altar eight years ago. After the death of a high school friend, Liam returns to town to attend the funeral and pay his last respects.

Shortly after arriving, Liam meets Josie, who deservedly punches him in the gut. Josie isn't the only person Liam has to face. Liam's father, Pastor Brian (John Benjamin Hickey), remains upset that his son has also let him down. Liam has some explaining to do and some making up for lost time, especially when Josie makes a shocking revelation that will change his life.

Skyscraper (2018)

If you ever wanted to know what would happen if Dwayne Johnson played John McClane, check out skyscraper. In this version of “Die Hard In “A Taller Building,” Johnson plays Will Sawyer, a former FBI agent and war veteran who lost his lower left leg in a bomb blast. A decade later, Will is a private security consultant with a wife (Neve Campbell) and two children. Will is brought to Hong Kong to oversee security at “The Pearl,” the world's tallest skyscraper at 3,500 feet (225 stories).

When a group of mercenaries set fire to the Pearl and take the owner hostage, they blame Will for the destruction. To make matters worse, the mercenaries take Will's family hostage. Using his superb fighting skills and resourcefulness, Will infiltrates the Pearl to save his family. However, the only way to safety on the Pearl is up, not down.
