Star Wars Stormtroopers build a Christmas tree

“Star Wars” fans – this is definitely the Christmas tree you've been looking for.

Kyle Shearrer, an inventive “Star Wars” fan from Columbia, Missouri, has created a series of hilarious photos with the help of his father that show a group of stormtroopers kicking off the holiday season and putting up a Christmas tree.

The wonderful images originally appeared on Facebook and show a group of stormtroopers putting up a Christmas tree in the name of the Empire… and ending up with a surprise visit from Darth Vader himself.

Let’s hope that none of them have let up…

“My dad owns about 10 Stromtroopers and we always enjoy playing with them,” Kyle explained in a post on Reddit. “[We] thought we would do something more festive this year. The whole thing probably took an hour or two to set up, and we had a lot of fun telling each soldier a little story.”

And that's no exaggeration…

The first few photos set the scene – a group of stormtroopers putting up a Christmas tree. But it soon becomes clear that other things are happening in the photos. If you look closely in the background, you'll see Luke Skywalker in a Stormtrooper outfit being captured by the Empire.

And when Vader shows up, he helps his buddies and uses the Force to levitate the treetop.

“We tried to add a little joke or innuendo to each picture.”

Star Wars has become a major part of Christmas celebrations for many fans… and in the UK, the films are traditionally shown on TV throughout the Christmas period. Did the soldiers do a good enough job? Vader certainly seems happy… at least for now.

Just don't mention the Star Wars Holiday Special.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits theaters on December 17, 2015.
