Ukraine's most important Christmas tree is lit up and decorated with yellow and blue hearts in Kiev

Ukrainians' spirits were lifted when the lights were turned on at Ukraine's most important Christmas tree in Kiev, the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, announced via Telegram on December 6.

This year's Christmas tree on Sophia Square is 12 meters high and artificial, decorated with blue and yellow heart-shaped ornaments with the coat of arms of Ukraine at the top.

Benefactors financed the installation and decoration of the Christmas tree. This year, in line with Ukraine's transition to the new holiday calendar, it will be taken down by January 10.

The Kyiv City State Administration announced on December 3 that there would be no public events or festival markets during the holidays. There will also be no change to the curfew in the capital; It remains in effect from midnight to 5 a.m
