NBA Player Props: Best bet for Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers Game 1 at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Eastern Conference Finals begin Tuesday night!

The Celtics took care of business against Cleveland, reaching the ECF in five games. It was much harder for the Pacers to get to that point, fighting back from a 3-2 series deficit to win Game 7 against the Knicks on Sunday. Tonight, all eyes turn to TD Garden for the opener of that series.

In this article, I'll break down my favorite NBA player prop on DraftKings Sportsbook for Celtics-Pacers Game 1. Without further ado, let's get started.

Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers – Game 1

H2H Points: Derrick White ML vs. Myles Turner (-120)

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

For today's competition we start with a fascinating head-to-head race.

Contrary to the image above, Derrick White and Myles Turner probably won't be guarding each other off the counter at all in this series. Therefore, we look at how each player compares to the other team, which favors White.

The Celtics have done an excellent job of containing Myles Turner throughout his career, aside from a few big plays. In 29 games against Boston, Turner averaged just 13.5 points. In this series, Indiana's big man will face Al Horford, who at 37 is still a fantastic defender. If Horford takes his place, Joe Mazzulla will likely move to Luke Kornet, who is causing problems of his own at 7'1.

On the other side of this matchup, White has averaged just 13 points per game against the Pacers in his career, albeit in a much smaller sample with much more favorable results since moving to Boston. The versatile guard has outscored Turner in three of his last five meetings, including an impressive 24-point effort in the final game of the regular season.

Thanks to his efficiency, Turner's point total may be slightly higher, but he only took more than 12 shots twice in seven games against the Knicks. When White is in rhythm, he tends to observe a much greater increase in volume. I expect that to happen again tonight after he finished strong in the last round against Cleveland.
