Ahead of the new NFL season, the West Coast show is undergoing a radical overhaul.

Local television stations owned by Fox will air a new syndicated edition of GMFB, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new two-hour extension of the regular show was announced in March and will premiere on September 2nd.

According to the report, it will “exist alongside NFL Network programming” and run Monday through Friday.

Sony Pictures Television will distribute the syndicated edition, which will be broadcast to 29 Fox-owned television stations.

“Football is a topic that fans across the country want to engage with – anytime, anywhere,” said Flory Bramnick, executive vice president of distribution at Sony Pictures Television.

“In a competitive media landscape, it is a gem that continues to attract live audiences and record record viewership.”

“We are excited to bring Good Morning Football to syndication because it offers many benefits to our buyers, from connecting their audiences to the NFL and the No. 1 sport in the country to increasing its appeal to advertisers.”

Current GMFB host Jamie Erdahl seemed excited about the development.

“Strong. More @gmfb, more places,” “Erdahl,” she wrote on her X account on Thursday.

“I work for the local FOX affiliate in Rochester, MN and we are excited to have GMFB on our schedule!” wrote one follower in response.

“END THE BREAK!” Give us back our GMFB!!!!” added another.

“Seems like a good move for Fox, more morning football content can't hurt,” said a third.

“Um, can you guys just hurry up and come back? My mornings are absolutely terrible without you,” complained a fourth.

Good Morning Football is currently relocating as the show moves from the East Coast to the West Coast.

What we already know

So far, ONLY one matchup has been confirmed for the 2024 NFL regular season.

This is the Week 1 game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers on Friday, September 6th.

The game will be played at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be broadcast live across the United States on Peacock.

We also know the identities of the home teams for the three games in London, England, and one in Munich, Germany.

The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings will host their games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while the other London home team will be the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium.

The Carolina Panthers are also confirmed for the game in Munich's Allianz Arena.

It's expected to return “this summer,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Erdahl recently gave birth to her first child as the show has been off the air since late March.

GMFB returned briefly from break for a special NFL Draft edition featuring regulars Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt and Jason McCourty.

Brandt assured viewers in March that the show was “not ending, but expanding.”

“It’s exciting because it’s a bigger show, it’s more of a show,” he said before the move to LA.

“It’s all the things and tokens you’ve woken up to for years.

“Angry Runs, Lead Block, Whiteboard Wednesday, Throwdown Thursday and so on and so forth. It's all in there. Everything happens.”
